This is an extended version of the reactive light. It is possible to define the brightness of the change between idle and working mode. As this is done by a magnetic switch, it is possible to change the value even if the device is already sealed.

This is an extended version of the reactive light. It is easy to build with just a few components.
The measurement of the brightness is done by a photoconductive cell (LDR). During daylight the device switches to an idle mode. In this mode just the brightness is checked regularly to reset the device to working mode at dusk. If the LDR is lit in this mode, the LED blinks ten times and waits for being triggered again.
The value of brightness for switching between idle and working mode can be set by using the magnetic switch. Closing the switch saves the current value. To acknowledge this the LED is switched on for eight seconds. Saving a new value is possible even if the device is already sealed. The value is saved persistently and is available even after a restart of the device.
Because of the extremely low power consumption a set of batteries will last for years.
